Re: connection to gmail voice chat

i am not an expert on VOIP protocols but i do believe that jabber and SIP interconnection is possible without touching the media path. with the appropriate signaling translation that audio should be able to go direct. of course it is possible google has taken steps to prevent this.

connection to gmail voice chat

google voice has now been integrated in gtalk/gmail voice chat. a gtalk(jabber/jingle) client capability would be a good alternative to the current GV callback method.

Re: gtalk client capablity

a reason they may not want to support SIP for endpoints would be if they want to promote GV as being a 'web only' solution that gets people talking through the browser and/or soft clients but they do not want mass market usage as a plain replacement for commercial VOIP services like vonage and cable...

gtalk client capablity

sipsorcery acting as a gtalk client could be quite interesting when this gets released: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2010/06/google-voice-to-integrate-with-gmail-as.html assuming of course that the GV integration use XMPP jabber/Gtalk signaling and that google does not also release SIP endpoint ...

Re: Do you know of a free SIP service with audio transcoding

Hello, I am trying to route incoming calls from my provider via Voxalot. The purpose is to be able to accept calls in g.729a format, not supported neither by my Frittz!Box nor Asterisk, with help of Voxalot transcoding feature. The provider does not honour user part of contatct SIP URI, and keeps s...

gtalk/jingle client capabilities

with grandcentral having become google voice the very likely next step is integration with gtalk/gmail voice/video chat. i am sure there will be google voice user who would like to use the service with a SIP device(i will certainly be one). adding gtalk client capabilities to mysipswitch would allow...

Re: Anyone using iNum ?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone here was using iNum number(s) ? iNum stands for international Number. It is a new kind of global phone number for a new kind of world -- a world with a new geography that's about local presence and global relationships, not about distance or national borders. ...

i am pretty sure that ipkall does not allow registrations. you must forward from the ipkall control panel to your mysipswitch account. it looks like you have that part of the configuration correct(although you do not need to use your mysipswitch password as your ipkall password). are you watching th...

Hi Ross, The GTalk app is hard coded to gmail.com as I didn't realise there even was an option of googlemail.com as the server. I'll make a note to adjust that for the next release. Regards, Aaron as far as i know gmail.com and googlemail.com have always been usable interchangeably for the same acc...
