Local Sip On W7

Post by Trimline » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:37 pm

I've come to rely on Sip Sorcery and have 5 lines defined on the server. I picked up a Lenovo Q100 on the cheap and loaded in W7. Defined the IIS and installed the latest version of Sip Sorcery using the XML (no SQL yet). This will act as my backup machine - its really my play machine. :)

Everything works just fine except for my connection to BlueSip - it works fine when I am defined to sipsorcery.com but does not register on my local machine. I do see there are differences in the SIP provider setup; has anyone been able to successfully connect to BlueSip using a local copy? I tried a lot of combinations to no avail. Thanks.

Do you get any kind of response to the register requests?

Yes, I do.

ra: Server response Unauthorised received for sip:username@bluesip.net and sip:username@bluesip.net.
ra: Server auth response Ok received for sip:username@bluesip.net and sip:username@bluesip.net.
ra: Contact successfully registered for 1777XXXXX on sip:bluesip.net, expiry 600s.

What's odd is it never really connects - incoming calls are moved to VM as bluesip doesn't see me registered. You can obtain a basic number here to try: http://www.bluesip.net/component/option ... 1/lang,en/

If you want incoming calls to go to your local version you need to change your register contact to user@youripaddress. If you leave it as username@sipsorcery.com that's where the calls will go.

Aaron:

Moved the system to MySql. The error message now reads : Registration failed with 479 bluesip.net. = "Please don't use private IP addresses". I'm thinking this has to do with a STUN setting.

user@youripaddress has to be user@your-public-ipaddress. The sipsorcery local version can use a STUN server for call requests but there is no facility to have it insert the public IP address into outgoing register requests.
