Discussions about using SIP Sorcery on your own computer/server

I know that once upon a time magicjack worked with SS, and then they blocked SS ip's. But can't you run a local version and get around this? Is something like MJMD5 build into the local version too? I've tried to register mine to no avail, but I might be doing something wrong or picking the wrong server... I got my user name and password okay.
I put a tweak in to accommodate the MagicJack authentication mechanism about a year ago. Apparently it lasted about a week before they changed something to stop the tweak working. I suspect MagicJack calls would fail from a local sipsorcery instance due to the custom authentication scheme they use.
