Satellite is total out of the question ! what gave you that idea ?
too much delay/latency for comfort !
I've got my snom820 (IP phone) quiet well configured now, and i discovered also that no voip provider is the same, each one needed it's own adjustment.
While setting up a DECT IP basestation is much easier, and with success too,
i took the snom for hopefully more config options, and extended information about the call & callerID.(it comes with a price)
only one provider gives me troubles (Budgetphone) but maybe i should leave that one on the DECT IP phone....

One needs a expensive mobile/cellphone subscription for the SIM it needs....
if it's not a package deal allready, when you buy the device.
