callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
Re: callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
Just checked with another sip clients (3cxphone, Media5-fone) and no MWI is received.
Re: callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
I just left a message on my callcentric voicemail and the MWI came through to my Cisco phone in a second or less.
If you haven't already I'd also recommend following the steps detailed here http://www.sipsorcery.com/mainsite/Help ... cVoicemail.
Code: Select all
MWI 09:51:25:298 sip1(2596): Forwarding NOTIFY request from sip:17772276xxx@callcentric.com:5062 to registered binding at sip:aaron@121.223.175.xxx:6060;user=phone;transport=udp, proxy udp:67.222.131.147:5060.
Re: callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
Did some changes and I was able to get the MWI Forward message.
My first mistake was in Callcentric Provider setup where my Register Contact was not my main SS user. I use a 3rd "virtual user" for incoming call treatments before to transfer the call to the desired SS user. This virtual user is never registered so, no binding available.
But, I'm still not able to see the MWI info (button, led, etc) in my clients. As I mentioned, if I register my Bria directly to Callcentric I can see MWI.
Could it be any incompatibility between both MWI messages?

Re: callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
I was able to replicate the problem with my Bria softphone. I can see the MWI requests being sent to the Bria but no MWI indication appears even though the same MWI notification does work for my Cisco IP Phone. I'll take a look deeper into this when I get a chance.
Re: callcentric voicemail MWI (message waiting indicator)
I've solved this issue. It turned out to be a missing line fee on the MWI request received from callcentric. My Cisco IP Phone did not mind the request but both the Bria and Zoiper softphones decided it was a bad request, wrongly in my opinion. The fix was to append a line feed to any MWI requests that didn't have a body terminated with one.
The reason MWI requests work when a Bria softphone is connected directly to callcentric is that they appear to be tailoring the contents of their MWI response for the Bria or at least some subset of SIP user agents. Interesting connecting directly to callcentric with a zoiper softphone results in the tailored MWI requests not being received and also results in zoiper responding with a bad request.

Tested and running well! Thanks!
