Is the MSS server down?

Post by formidible » Wed May 06, 2009 10:44 pm

I cannot make any calls out this evening. I have checked all the settings for MSS and my providers but everything seems fine and all are correctly registered in MSS and I have made no changes to x-lite. I have noticed that where it says 'status' on the main MSS homepage it just says 'The sip switch did not respond'. Does this mean the server is down?

Yes thanks - I realised after posting that there is another thread about this. Hope it's back online soon. It beckons the question why we are not told about this from MSS?

Yes it's down again. This happened last weekend also for two whole days. What is going on? This is a real pain for all members and I hope it gets sorted out quickly. No point in subscribing if MSS is starting to become totally unreliable.

It is up again but personally I switched to my SPA.
I will wait for a couple of weeks to see what is going on with MSS and either will use it again or I will use a PBX in a spare old PC.

I was thinking about using it for a few of my SIP accounts and numbers but after reading around looks like it's as reliable as rain in the Sahara. How come you guys even still bother with it? There's a few other similar services like pbxes or voxalot. Sure you may have to pay a few $$ but so what!!

None other service is as good as MSS. In the past used to be very reliable. Now it is in a transition period.
Just I thing I have lost more time than the developers trying to make it work :). So I will stick with my SPA for now and I am sure in the near future everything will be smooth again with MSS.

This is irrelevant. As Aaron said the other time, MSS used only to connect the call and does not affect the call quality.
