sipsorcery.com

Post by Aaron » Wed Jun 24, 2009 1:58 pm

Hi All,

The new version of mysipswitch is now available at sipsorcery.com.

In regards to the future of the existing mysipswitch.com service it will be phased out and existing users should migrate their accounts to sipsorcery.com. There will be warnings posted before the service is shutdown and the it's anticipated the date will be the end of 2009.

The cloud instance of mysipswitch on 75.101.164.154 is also going to be shutdown and again users should migrate their accounts to sipsorcery.com as soon as possible. It is anticipated that the cloud instance will be turned off at the end of August 2009 and again more warnings will be posted.

The reasons for these (enforced) migrations are twofold. Firstly the mysipswith.com instance runs on a Blueface server and that is not an ideal situation from a security perspective as was found with some recent Blueface firewall changes. The cloud instance of mysipswitch.com was only ever intended as a temporary measure until sipsorcery.com was ready. Secondly literally thousands of hours of development work have been put into the underlying software since the last mysipswitch.com update and the sipsorcery.com service has a large number of new features and improvements.

Regards,

Aaron

Hello Aaron,

This version works only in windows. Thus, linux, Mac OS, etc will not be able to utilize the new server.

Is the Mysipswitch and/or Amazon cloud going to abandonment?

Regards

Wow! I am impressed on first look. Will this be stable to make me complete switch over?

I found a spare windows machine and created a new account.

I tried to copy my dial plan form my old account but it can not save (it is to large)...

Then I created a small dial plan just for testing with xten.
I manage to call only one number and all other failed.

I opened an account on Sipsorcery and set up everything and I am glad to say that it all seems to work OK. I think I prefer the old webpages as they are easier to navigate (could be that I rarely use Vista) and work with Linux. I wish the login did not time out so fast!

So far so good.

The old interface is much more ergonomic but the new is much more proffesional.
Still, I try to make my old dial plan to work :(.
With a new simple dial plan it works for outgoing calls but it has some issues with incoming. :(

I'm very disappointed that Silverlight has been chosen for the new site design. I was an instant fan of Mysipswitch.com but the use of Silverlight prevents all Linux users, including myself from using the new service.

You may create a virtual machine, as I did, in order to manipulate your account.
