IP Address Changes

Post by Aaron » Tue May 18, 2010 10:24 am

The IP addresses of the two sipsorcery servers have been changed today. The reason for the change was an administrative technical malfunction, i.e. I pressed the wrong button when attemtping to do an upgrade. There's some more information on the blog at http://sipsorcery.wordpress.com/2010/05 ... s-changes/.

For anyone who has configured their ATA's or SIP provider entries with IP addresses the new ones are shown below:

sip1.sipsorcery.com 184.73.243.48
sip2.sipsorcery.com 184.73.168.14

Hopefully everything is close to normal now and not too many people have been put out. If you are still having problems please do a ping to sipsorcery.com and make sure it is resolving to the new address.

Regards,
Aaron

I can't get Console to work. When I click on "Connect", I get an error message saying that the filter (event *) can't be set without the notifier server being connected. Probably this problem is somehow related to IP address change because I first noticed it right after you posted to the blog.

I have all my registratons okay now except for blueface ones. None of the blueface ones are registering. Should I raise it in the blueface forum ?

Re the console it's a DNS issue. The web server, which is currently hosted on Windows Azure, doesn't appear to have updated for the new sip1 and sip2 IP addresses so times out when trying to connect to the old addresses. I need to fix that code so it doesn't kill the whole web service and am in the process of doing just that. At the same time I'm going to move the site of Windows Azure as it's too expensive and deployment is a real pain. In short the console problem should be fixed in the next 24 hours and in the meantime you could always ssh into one of sip1 or sip2.

Re blueface registrations that's being caused by blueface blocking all traffic from Amazon's EC2 (see this thread and others like it for why http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r242527 ... s-Continue). I did get a dispensation for the old sipsorcery IP's but the new ones are blocked. I'll see if it's possible to get the new IP's allowed but failing that the sipsorcery SIP service will hopefully be moving off Amazon's EC2 this week.

Aaron

I'm currently registering to sipsorcery.com, and everything seems to be working great. Is that a problem?

For the people who are experiencing a problem, you could try sip2.sipsorcery.com instead of sip1/sip.sipsorcery.com. The latter is not working for me. but I am using sip2 without a problem.
