Okay, special thanks to Aaron ! i guess it isn't allways easy, (understatement?) because SIP/VoIP is such an undiscovered "country" to most of us all, and when you look at it, MySIPSwitch is running good ! as an service, continuosly, without any downtime, or very little, i guess..

btw.
When you look at the memberlist, and how....high the % is of the people, who didn't even post in the Forums, i guess these people are just using MySIPSwitch, without having any problems...!
Thanks, The Fug.

Well, the reason is called spam unfortunately
For a while, I kept the users but deleted their spamer's details. Since October, I delete new spammers account directly (they were too many) so you will notice that this ratio will evolve. The number of users is raising every day which is agreat point and one of the best awards for all the work done.

By Spam you mean phone spam ? people are mis using their account to spam-phone other people ?
Maybe some form of abuse forum, or register point, coould be of help ?
maybe the existence of this support will prevent also the abuse for a good part.... i guess the part of MySIPSwitch being free is a thorn in other people's eyes...:(
Thanks, The Fug.

I'm guessing it is bots registering the acounts and adding URL's to their websites. I think the logic is the more links to your site that Google finds then the higher it will rank.

I had a similar problem with the same version of the forum software running here. Tried everything... Couldn't get rid of them... Until I discovered that if you change the colour of the captchya slightly then they can't read it - and since then - not a singe spam registration - went from 10 a day to zero - and been 6 months... So all good! (But I did just move to V3 - lets see how it goes!)

Happy New Year to all - Except BOTS!

hi,

Glenn is right :-)
There is an aweful lot of bots which registers automatically on forum to adds links to their website and/or porn pics ... That's such a pain in the bum and I'm loosing so much time with that ...
I think the logic is the more links to your site that Google finds then the higher it will rank.
You've got the point, links 1st bring trafic and then they help the site to rank higher in search engine results.
