DNS Failover

Post by jack9901 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:28 pm

Would it be feasible to implement DNS failover sip1->sip2 or vice versa? Currently specifying sip1 or sip2 can be used to deal with some transient problems of two servers.

Thanks.

DNS SRV records are already implemented and working on Sip Sorcery. In a PAP2, set:

Use DNS SRV: yes
DNS SRV Auto Prefix: yes
Proxy Redundancy Method: Based on SRV Port

and it will find the working server when the other one is down.

Thanks for the kind reminder. I have one or two situations where I need to specify sip1 or sip2. But most people probably won't need to do that and DNS SRV will do the job.

Yes! DNS failover would be very helpful.
