Aaron
Like many I have sys.ENUMLookup(("#{eprefix}#{enum}.#{vsp}") set up in my dialplan. Works fine, although besides test calls I’ve never had the opportunity to use it.
A better use for e164.org would be to use such a function to determine local numbers for non local numbers via http://www.e164.org/non-search.php, which seems to have a good database of non local => local numbers.
Example for Synergy Electricity Account Enquires: 131353 => +61893266111, +61862122222.
I am supposing that this would require a new lookup function.
Under my iinet vsp all Australian landline calls are free, although not 1300 numbers, some of which are 30c flat rate, some of which are 11c per min. It seems a racket to leave customers in a call queue when they phone some 1300 numbers, as a 1800 free call number could be used instead.
Note that the http://www.e164.org/non-search.php tab asks for a country selection and the number is in local format ie no country code.
Regards
Rod
PS Any chance of getting the three way conference function, as requested in a previous post?
e164.org lookup local number
Re: e164.org lookup local number
The web form for the e164.org search looks fairly simple which means it's probably possible to make use of it with the existing dial plan sys.WebGet function.
I'll put aside some time to have a closer look at what's involved in the ability to set up 3 way conference calls at some stage this week. I don't know how practical it is at this point but I will take a look.
