inbound: forward caller number

Post by caifara » Mon Jun 26, 2017 12:22 pm

Hi

A question about this situation:
* I have a geographic number (from a voip provider)
* it is registered in sipsorcery
* I have a working dial plan

If someone calls and the call is forwarded to my cellphone, the incoming call on my cellphone shows my own (geographic) number instead of the one of the person calling me. Is it possible to see the number of the one who called instead?

(I also have another number at plivo.com where this works by default so I guess it must be possible?)

The callerid is being set by the provider you are using to forward the call to your cellphone. With the sipsorcery service you can set the callerid fields to anything but then it's up to each SIP provider as to whether they pass those fields through or ignore them.

I'd recommend contacting the provider in question and asking if they support arbitrary callerid.
