Silverlight login and Aurora 12a2

Post by mackeev » Wed Feb 08, 2012 1:49 pm

After updating my Firefox browser to 12a2, I was not able to log into my account using Silverlight.
I reported this bug at Bugzilla forum and it turned out there's an easy fix (but you need to change the default settings).
There also was a suggestion that the bug might be on SS side (see the comments)
Please follow the link below to see what it's all about:

Any comment on this?

I had a quick scan of the bug report and then http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http. ... ererHeader to find out what the network.http.sendRefererHeader actually is.

My very rough guess as to what could have gone wrong is that Firefox is somehow setting a Referrer header that my hosting provider's IIS server does not like. I wouldn't have thought the Referrer header would even matter to IIS or my Silverlight application but perhaps there's some esoteric setting somewhere that uses it.

I regularly use the sipsorcery Silverlight app in Chrome, Firefox and IE and haven't encountered the issue yet but will keep an eye out for it. For the time being the workaround from the bug report seems like the best option.

Whatever the issue is, it is definitely NOT on the server side. I visited a couple more sites w/ Silverlight: they all had some issues with the default settings.
