Exetel Authentication Problems

Post by epacep » Tue Mar 10, 2015 3:56 am

Since approximately 1100AEDST on 07 March 2015 I have been experiencing authentication problems with two separate Exetel SIP accounts. I receive the following error traces :

Code: Select all

DialPlan=> Response 401 Unauthorized for sip:038649xxxx@
DialPlan=> Dialplan cleanup for xxxx.
SIPTransaction=> Send Final Response Reliable udp:67.222.131.147:5070->67.222.131.147:5060
SIP/2.0 480 Authentication with provided credentials failed

Any ideas. I can use the Exetel accounts directly with the same credentials. Just fails via sipsorcery.

I wondering if sipsorcery is all of a sudden appearing as a foreign user?

Nothing has changed on the sipsorcery server so it would be unusual for the server to be blocked. I can still see SIP traffic flowing to the Exetel IP address so I'm pretty sure that's not it.

It would be worth disconnecting any other devices you have using your Exetel account and leaving only the sipsorcery one registered. Then try a call and see if that makes any difference. Sometimes providers have rules about multiple devices and only allow calls from the most recent registration address or such.

I have an update. It appears that Exetel had blocked the sipsorcery domain. Some changes were being made on their user configuration webpage to block various ranges of IP origin. This configuration page is still under construction though sipsorcery could be unblocked manually by Exetel on a per-account basis. All is working fine now. Others may have a similar problem pending completion of the webpage.
