my ata was logged in for a few minutes about half an hour ago, but i still couldn't make or receive any calls. then the connection light wen out again. i hope there is a flicker of hope it will be online very soon.

i just wish someone would post some kind of status update or something and not keep the users totally in the dark.

izzyjoe I can receive incoming calls to my gizmo5 but it goes strait to my ip and not through the gizmo itself. maybe that`s why. Also I have "receive incoming calls withouth register" "yes" but also I have set "make outgoing calls without register yes, but this dosn`t works. I also had it online for a few minutes and then it was off again, I guess they have problems on their server and hopefully tomorrow it will be back working again.
I use sipbroker gateway on my pap2 dialplan, but I can`t do any to pstn calls through sipbroker gateway. Pitty.

IMHO I will assume since the buying of Gizmo5 by Google, is its just a matter of time before this service (Gizmo5) will not have a time limits any longer.

This is a major calamity!

SS has left the planet.

Can't believe that both the SIP server & webservers are offline. I know the sys admin was doing upgrades to the SIP server but why would that also knock the webserver offline?

For both to be offline sounds like they've lost their internet line into the building because normally the SIP & webservers are different boxes?

My ATA has been unregistered now for 24 hours. I pick up my handset and there is no dial tone.

Why can't the sys admin take a couple of minutes to post to this forum and let us know what is going on!

I really like SS & don't want to go back to Voxalot

Hi guys,

The server hosting SIP Sorcery on the Amazon Cloud must have stalled and Aaron must have been away for the last couple of days. I don't have access to this box so I can't help at all.

I sent him an email yesterday about this outage. I'll send him an SMS now.

Sorry about the inconvenience

ipkall direct inbound calls

Postby Dr John » Thu Nov 12, 2009 12:53 pm

In the down time just to get ipkall direct inbound working. With a Zyxel wifi phone P2000W V1.
Software Version Wj.00.13
Bootrom Version B.00.16
Release Date May 12 2006
It works great. I had to forward ports 5060,2070 on my router, because it was a hit or miss with out port forwarding.
Here is the link.

OmagicQ from dslreports said
"In my experience, IPKall directly to my softphone is 7 hops while Gizmo5 is 12 hops and the first 4 hops is inside the ATT network so really its 3 hops from IPKall vs 8 from Gizmo5. That's a significant improvement going with the direct route. Of course your network path may be different. Also call quality will not be affected by Gizmo5 since it will not be touching their server."

This might be worth keeping, I use my ipkall number for GV. Better quality, and if the server is down, incoming calls still works.
Also the Registration hiccups drops the calls on the Zyxel.
Which will not happen routed this way.
